Working on a long text with hundreds of segments? No problem. Use the arrows to skip to the next segment with a reported issue.

Ignore errors

If you think there’s something that needs no correction, you also get the option to ignore it. This error won't appear in this segment any more. (You can still see all ignored errors in our QA report page.)

The types of errors detailed below are the generic errors which we check for in all the locales we support. We also have in place a number of hidden locale-specific algorithms which defy classification; they are designed to help improve the accuracy of our checks and make the life of our users even easier.

Punctuation

Spaces Leading spaces This is the beginning of a paragraph.
Trailing spaces There is a space after this full-stop.
Double spaces This is a double space.
Multiple spaces These are multiple spaces.
Spaces before punctuation This space would be wrong in English ! (But not in French.)
Missing space after punctuation A space is needed,after the comma.
Missing space before opening brackets There is a space missing before this(bracket).
Spaces before/after symbols (language-/symbol-specific) 50% vs 50 % (space is needed)
Space after opening tag / space before closing tag <p> No space is needed here. </p>
Ellipsis Double full-stop This is a double full-stop..
Multiple full-stop (over three) This is a wrong ellipsis….
Trailing marks Mark missing The full-stop is missing
Mark mismatch (between ST and TT) There is a full-stop in the TT. (But not in the ST.)
Consecutive punctuation Multiple identical marks This double comma,, it's probably a typo.
Multiple variable marks Do we really need two marks here?!
Quotation marks Unpaired/missing marks In this sentence the opening quotation marks are missing."
Locale-specific marks « These quotation marks would not be correct in English. » (But they would be in French)
Conversions Locale-specific marks At the end of a sentence, in English you have a . but in Burmese you have a ။ and in Urdu you have a ۔
Unmatched marks At the end of a question, in English you have a ? but in Thai you have no mark at all

Multiple
Error Class Description Example
More than one error classes A different color is used in cases of overlapping errors. Τhere is a redundant space and a wrong punctuation mark at the end of this sentence .

The error classes you can see in the 'Checks' tab are the ones we are currently checking for in MateCat, but there will be further additions and improvements in the near future. All locale-specific checks are pre-set to save you the trouble. There is a wide range of other checks and operations which is available only in lexiQA's proprietary UI and Editor.
